It’s never been easier to start a career in photography and with Yoobee’s flexible online courses, it’s never been easier to learn. If you want to make full use of your camera this is the course for you. You’ll learn all the key skills you need to start creating great looking photographs.

These days it’s possible to create excellent images using average camera equipment – with the right training and guided practice. In this course, you’ll focus on the fundamentals of exposure and composition, while learning to get the most out of your camera.

If you’ve been wanting to get started with photography or learn more about how great photos are made, this is the course for you.

What you'll learn

We start off with a look at different types of cameras and lenses, then take some time to learn the basic functions of your camera. You'll be able to move out of Auto mode and get full control of your camera's potential.

Once you have control of shutter speed, aperture, and ISO, you'll be able to focus on learning some composition and lighting techniques to make your photographs even more polished. Along the way, you'll learn to analyse your own work and the work of other photographers, to identify the elements of photography that go into creating excellent images.

This course is practical and hands-on – you’ll be out shooting and practising with your camera from the first lesson.

Course content is the same as the first module of the Yoobee Online Certificate in Photography. Completing this course counts as credit towards the online Certificate if you choose to continue your study.
